It is not getting hot, I've not seen fan running at full speed with this Haswell processor, which is really cooler as compare to its older siblings. I'm also getting a sense of hardware issue, but where to start troubleshooting the HW. It's a clean 8.1 install, and since I just installed, running on trial version at the moment. Windows Updates i've turned off, just to make sure, made no difference. Indexing is set as default, nothing changed, and by default it works only on some Cache and Offline files, and it was completed when I checked after restart. When I start system, sometimes it responds like it should be. As a last resort I reinstalled Windows 8.1 Ent., tried couple of times, but it didn't make any difference. I though it might be some program, so I uninstalled Kaspersky, Acronis TI and other programs I was suspecting to be the cause. I tried to find the process in Task Manager, but no process with high usage. 30-40% without any noticeable job running, and system response very poor. CPU usage was very high from last few weeks, i.e. I've got a strange problem with one notebook, and it is happening on and off. ![]()
